Type One diabetes
Type One diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas. While its causes are not yet entirely understood, scientists believe that both genetic factors and environmental triggers are involved. Type One diabetes strikes children and adults, causes dependence on injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. The money we raise helps JDRF move faster toward better treatments and a cure for Type One diabetes.

Your gift will help us to increase the amount of money we are able to direct to critical research to keep people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) healthier and safer and to find a cure for this disease. JDRF has improved lives and raised hope for the millions of people living with T1D around the world. We are the only global organization with a strategic plan to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until it is no longer a threat to anyone.
Please make a tax-deductible donation today so that we can continue to change the lives of all those affected by T1D.
