Welcome to Dreaming of Cooperstown. I am not sure how you found us but on behalf of the Dreaming of Cooperstown community, welcome and we’re glad you’re here.
The Long-Winded Version
Who is Scott Morris?
I am a husband, father, business owner and Type One Diabetes advocate. I love my family, the greatest gift I have ever been given. I am also an avid baseball fan. Baseball is a passion I share with my son, Ryan. I especially appreciate baseball’s ability to teach character building lessons which hold practical applications to personal achievement in all worthy pursuits.
When Ryan was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes I made a promise that Type One diabetes advocacy and the efforts to find a cure would become a part of my life’s work. I started my Dreaming of Cooperstown blog to teach Ryan that the game he loves and the lessons he has learned on a baseball field have practical applications to personal achievement, including thriving despite living every day with a chronic illness.
In baseball the game’s elite players are immortalized in a Hall of Fame located in Cooperstown, New York. My hope is to provide content to support baseball as a metaphor for achievement and to show that, regardless of one’s chosen pursuits, baseball offers the lessons and tools to help each of us lead a life that matters; a playbook, essentially, for our personal road to Cooperstown.
The best way to understand what this site is about is to explore the content. You will discover the core theme to personal achievement and thriving with Type One Diabetes on board is a Keep Winning Days mindset. The essential elements of the Keep Winning Days mindset are attitude, effort, hope, and mastery of the 5-tools that matter: you matter, discipline matters, growth matters, team matters and grit matters.
And while you are exploring, be sure to visit….
Life’s Hall of Fame: where we will feature individuals and organizations engaged in selfless acts.
The 7th inning stretch: where we will feature events, contests, fun tips and facts.

The Cocktail Party Version
The path to achievement and significance is not a secret to be discovered but found in well-known and time-tested fundamental truths. While simple to understand, these fundamentals are not always easy to implement on a daily basis. This Dreaming of Cooperstown blog seeks to examine these fundamentals which are core elements to our Keep Winning Days mindset.
